Registration for the 2022 South Boston St. Patrick’s Day/Evacuation Day Parade occurring on March 20, 2022

Welcome to the South Boston St. Patrick’s Day/Evacuation Day/Parade Registration Page. This year all participants will participate in an online registration process which will make your experience more enjoyable as we create and present the nation’s most exciting celebration honoring St. Patrick’s Day and the Evacuation of British Forces from Boston on March 17, 1776.
This is a family centered, culturally inclusive parade that addresses two important themes; St. Patrick’s Day and honoring our military/Veterans. Ask yourself, “Does my participation enhance those themes?” Please review the CODE OF CONDUCT so you are fully aware of what we will consider for entry into this parade.
It is very important that you complete the registration in its entirety. Incomplete registrations will not be considered for the 2022 parade. If you have any questions, please contact the Director of Parade Operations at email@example.com. Below you will find the information about key items that MUST be addressed in the registration process. Most information requested is self explanatory. However, please pay close attention to the following:
UNIT NAME: What is the name of your Unit?
ORGANIZATION: What is the name of the organization sponsoring the Unit?
UNIT TYPE: This is important so we don’t put too many of the same types of units together.
UNIT MODE: This tells us how you plan to traverse the parade route. Will you be walking, riding on a float, driving a truck or other vehicle? This is very important so we are aware of how many vehicles are are in the parade
UNIT MODE NOTES: Please tell us in detail how many vehicles you plan to have in the parade or give us any additional details about your mode of movement in the parade
# OF PARTICIPANTS: Please let us w how many participants are in your unit.

CONTACT FIRST NAME: Self Explanatory
CONTACT LAST NAME: Self Explanatory
***The CONTACT will be the person who will check the unit in on parade day as well as the point of contact for the unit throughout the application process. The CONTACT MUST BE AT THE PARADE ON PARADE DAY.
The rest of the contact information is self-explanatory. ALL CONTACTS MUST HAVE ACCESS TO EMAIL. ALL OF OUR INFORMATION WILL BE SENT OUT VIA EMAIL.
UNIT REQUESTS: Please give information of any compensation you require to participate in this parade. This parade is totally self funded and is a fund-raiser for the 17 March Foundation that puts on the parade. We are not at liberty to pay large sums of money for groups to appear.
We are excited for your interest in marching in the parade! Veterans Organizations and Community & Cultural Groups are allowed to march free of charge. We request that businesses and political organizations contribute to the parade infrastructure with the following pricing:
Political Candidates & Groups: $500
Local Unions: $1000
Commercial Businesses: $2500

All registered organizations are subject to review by the South Boston Allied War Veterans Council and required to adhere to the parade Rules & Regulations.

DETAILED UNIT DESCRIPTION – NEW FOR 2020
Once you click on SUBMIT, you will be directed to the DETAILED UNIT DESCRIPTION form…
This is the most important part of registration. This is where you give a DETAILED description of your unit. This will be the section we will review to determine your eligibility to participate in the parade. Please include ANY and ALL information about your unit and what you plan to submit for consideration. This includes what types of vehicles you plan to use (if any), how it will be decorated, how many participants you will have and so forth.
Also consider how your unit will reflect the themes of Evacuation Day and/or St. Patrick’s Day. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! Please include websites, photos (scanned and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org), Web addresses for YouTube Videos, etc…What ever you can submit that accurately depicts your unit will go a long way to having you accepted in the parade. Remember that just because you have been accepted in the past DOES NOT mean you will be accepted into this year’s parade.
Once you have completed the registration, click the Send Unit Registration button and your application will be locked in for further consideration.
